The complex offers its guests four (4) studios, one (1) apartment with one bedroom and three (3) apartments with two bedrooms, a cafeteria-snack bar and a mini market, while the beach lies just opposite.

The studios and apartments are spread out in a pleasant way, so the residents do not have the impression of being in a big complex. The areas of rich vegetation also emphasize the studios' privacy.

All studios and apartments are equipped with air-condition and telephone and are comfortable and practically furnished, while the kitchen is fully equipped and there is plenty of sitting space too.

The apartments are available with either one or two bedrooms and the bathrooms are of comfortable size.

All the rental properties consist of own terrace for peace of mind and moments of relaxation.

The mini market of the complex offers a great variety of fresh fruit and vegetables for your everyday life.

The entire facility is surrounded by beautiful gardens with swimming pool and children's pool, which is part of the main one.

The cafeteria-snack bar offers every kind of refreshments, ice cream, snacks as well as music. Moreover, big sports events can be watched on satellite TV.

Location

Frangokastello is a charming, peaceful and traditional village on the south coast of Crete. It offers splendid sandy beaches, as you can see on the pictures above. The water is getting deeper very slowly, so this is the ideal spot for parents to let their children play in the sea. Even 50 meters outside in the sea the water is only knee deep. Here is not just a place for people who love the sun, it is also a fantastic place for trekking with beautiful views and gorges.

Some of the sites you can visit in the area are: the Venice Castel, the Saint Nikita's church with ancient Greek mosaics, the gorges of Imvros , Kallikrati in the beautiful village and of course the famous gorge of Samaria. Recommended are small trips to the most southern island of Europe Gavdos, the Monasties of Preveli, Plakia; Saint Roumeli. With long white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, the plain of Frangocastello with its olive-trees and the high mountains, offer a breathtaking view.

Ôavernas, mostly family businesses, ensure high quality food and a very pleasant time!

There are some very nice gorges in the area. Hora Sfakion is in a distance of 10km, from where you can go by boat to Loutro, Agia Roumeli and the Samaria Gorge.

A regular daily bus goes to Chania - Rethymnon - Plakias - Heraklion.

Frangokastello is 72 kilometres from Chania airport and 130 kilometres from Heraklion airport. An ideal spot for a relaxing family holiday, far away from mass tourism. Frangokastello has about 20 restaurants and taverns in and around the village. There are shops, and minimarkets for your shopping.

Frangokastello took its name from the Venetian castle built there in 1371. Here you find several taverns, shops and apartments, like Apartments Stavris. Frangokastello lies in the South West of Crete, in a natural plain boarding the sea, with many olive trees. The White Mountains surround this plain in the North. Just behind the fortress there is a nice sandy beach, with rented beds and umbrellas. There water stays knee deep for about 50 meters, so a nice place for children to play.

In 1828 a celebrated battle for independence was fought against the Turks at Frangokastello. Hundreds of Sfakiots led by Hadzi Michali Daliani, a Greek adventurer attempting to spread the War of Independence from the mainland to Crete. Instead of hiding in the mountains, as most rebels did in this area, he stayed in the castle with his soldiers. Unfortunately, they were massacred and their martyrdom became legendary. Locals will claim that to this day, on or around the 17th of May, the ghosts of Daliani and his army march from the castle in the soft light of dawn. They are called 'drossoulites', or dew shadows.
