Location
Amoudara is one of the most popular north coast resorts and very close to Heraklion. The area offers various opportunities of investment as a big wave of tourists choose to spend their vacation each year to enjoy the lively nightlife and the sandy beach. The resort corresponds to the most age groups and holiday styles demands. The loads of hotels and rooms for rent are busy, especially during the high summer-time season. The tourists, but the locals as well, have to choose in a large selection of restaurants, traditional taverns, bars, nightclubs and cafeterias when they go out. The souvenir shops, jewellery stores, super markets and other facilities are found all along the central road of Amoudara.
The region is most featured by its long (approximately 5km), beautiful, sandy beach that has an EU blue flag in recognition of its clean water. Water sports and windsurfing are some of the activities that attract the interest.
The location of the resort is ideal as it offers the perfect base for exploring the east and the west of the island and also to the south. The traditional village of Rogdia with its traditional dishes and the exceptional views are not far away and the archaeological site of Tylissos is easily accessed.
The area is reached by regular public buses from the town of Heraklion every half an hour.
