Increasing the Greek tourism market in Russia by 50%

According to statistics from the General Consulate of Greece in Moscow, the number of issued visas for Russians has increased over 50% in January-July 2010, compared with the corresponding period last year. In the meantime, the number of visas issued in June 2010 increased almost 64% compared to June 2009 and grew more than 56% in July compared with the corresponding period in 2009.

Greece as a tourist destination was one of the most successful of the season: the demand increased, and the trip duration was extended.

The most popular tour operators to system users TourIndex:
The leader in many applications in TourIndex during Feb-July 2010 was the Pegas Touristik with index of 5%. Then, the Capital Tour (4,8%), the TEZ TOUR (4,6%), the Mouzenidis Tour (4%), the Lanta-tour Voyage (3,8%), the ICS Travel Group (3, 8%) and the Natalie Tours (3,5%), the Russian Express (3,4%) and the Panteon (3,4%). The Megapolus tours is the last at the Top10 with a share of 3.3%.

The 11th position went to the Biblio Globus (2,9%). The company has just started to work in Greece this year. Then the IntAer (2,7%), the Intravel Stoleshniki (2,6%), the Solvex (2,6%) and Inna tour (2,5%). In the last positions at the Top20 in number of applications to TourIndex held Vilar Tours (2,2%), Troika (2,2%), Neva (1,8%) and Puteshestvui Group of Companies (1,7%). It is important to note that over 64% of all applications in TourIndex are made by the mentioned 20 travel agencies.

The tours in Greece the most popular duration
According to statistics TourIndex, the most popular tours in Greece during the period Feb-July 2010 was vacations for  two weeks (18.1% of requests). 15.9% of users prefer the tours for 10 nights, 13% to 11 nights and 12% of the weekly trips.

Types of hotels that are popular among users of the system TourIndex
The hotels that offer All Inclusive (37,6%) were popular during the period between February and July 2010. 18.3% of all applications made for hotels with half board. 15% of the agents asked the hotel package Ultra All Inclusiv, while 14% belong to hotels that offer All Inclusive Plus (AI +). Hotels with full board (5%) reached the Top5 list.

According to the statistics results for the period Feb-July 2010 showed that the 4-star hotels were the most popular (42.5%). The five star (34.5%) follow and those of three-star (15.2%).
