5.500 Cretans and tourists danced with united hands from 19.40 until 20.05!
In the verse "On August, 7 the heart beats in Crete", the human chain with total length of 200.000 meters was spread from Chania to Lasithi!
The volunteers and the police cooperated succesfully and ensured the proper transaction of the whole procedure.
All the dancers that joined this new event were lined up on the right side of the main North axis of Crete (Chania-Saint Nikolaos), while an helicopter from the air supervised the area.
During this unique event, Crete was sending messages of love and brotherhood among all peoples of the world, inviting them to dance and become one with them. The participation of the capital of the four prefectures of Crete with songs and dances, attracted the interest of international channels.
The turnout was satisfactory, although the organizers aim was, among others, to get the event into the Guinness book. Therefore, the participants will receive a copy of the 'Guinness Award' in their name. In any case, the organizers will provide the dancers with the Reward 'Planet Crete' for their volunteerism in this great attempt.
