Swiss tourists prefer Greece despite the crisis

Front page article entitled "Holidays in Greece? A good summer project" and subtitled "The Swiss tour operators say unanimously that Greece will be cheap this year, as published by the" Tribune de Geneve ", accompanied by a full-page analysis of the financial editor Elisabeth Eckert. The article reproduced in the Lausanne newspaper "24 heures", says the "Kathimerini".

The article begins with the new slogan of the Ministry of Tourism "Good morning", which aims to reverse the negative climate in Greece because of the greatly deteriorated the economic crisis and the difficult prospects for the tourism sector, which accounts for 20% of the country's AEP and employs a million people.

The picture, however, for the Swiss visitors is different, as confirmed to the newspaper representatives of major travel agencies in Switzerland. The representative office of Kuoni says that the demand to Greece has not fallen at all. Hotelplan's representative says that prices have fallen 15%, with the help of an over-valued Swiss franc against the euro.

In the article are included statements of the Greek Tourism Deputy Ms. Angelas Gkerekou that Greece should charm again the tourists and the announcement by Prime Minister Mr George Papandreou, regarding the elimination of aircraft landing fees at all airports around the country, except the airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" in Athens.

However, the Swiss travel agencies prepare alternative plans in case of strikes in Greece, through special flights for the repatriation of Swiss and change routes and destinations.
