Interest of Ukrainian people on agreements regarding tourism in Crete
As a great opportunity for the island's economy and especially for the tourism and agricultural products, described the results of the contacts that had in Kiev, Ukraine, Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis in charge of the Region of Crete.
In particular, during the contacts he had with the representative of the Regional Director of Kiev, there was an active interest in dried grapes and other agricultural products while the ground for tourism agreements is being prepared.
Alongside, Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis announced within that the next days will come to Crete executives of a big import company in Ukraine which has contacts with local authorities and operators to introduce olive oil and wine.
Also on March the 25th a delegation of the Kiev Region will visit our island in order to search an area of 100.000mē for large tourist infrastructure they want to create for the hospitality of Ukrainian tourists.
The Regional Director made also known that in May this year he will visit the island the representative of the Regional Director of Kiev, accompanied by businessmen who are interested in investing, as well as to promote the Cretan products in their country.
Interest, however, said the Regional Director of Crete, was shown by the Ukrainians also for scientific-level collaborations.
"The contacts we had though, were extended to an educational level too, and yesterday (Wednesday, February the 22nd) I had a meeting with the lecturer of the University of Kiev, who asked for cooperation with the University of Crete, which will also happen shortly," said the Regional Director of Crete.
