By airplane and cruise ships arrive thousands of visitors in Chania!

This year's touristic season -even this early- starts with good omens for Chania. According to the evidence so far, for the first time, twenty European airports have flights scheduled for March, April and May, with low-cost airlines to the airport of "Daskalogiannis" especially with Ryanair, Norwegian, Cimber Sterling and EasyJet.

In particular, departures are scheduled from airports of European cities and countries such as Bergen, Bologna, Brussels, Copenhagen, Ntiseltorf, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Milan, Glasgow, Oslo, Paphos, Rome, Paphos, Stockholm, Denmark, England and Poland.
The flights begin on Sunday, March the 25th, with the arriving of the companies Ryanair and EasyJet.

"The cruise holds well":

At the same time, 64 cruise ships, with the booking data so far, are expected to reach the port of Souda and Chania this year.
More specifically, apart from the known from last year companies CARRIBEAN, AZAMARA, CELEBRITY and MANO CROUISE, other companies have embraced Chania as their destination. A typical example are the luxury cruise ships of the company SEABOURN that will "make omen" this year on April the 10th with the cruise SEABOURN LEGEND carrying about 700 passengers. It is worth noting that the cost of participation in the cruise varies from 3.000 to 11.000 euro.

The arrival schedule of the cruise ships starts in the middle of April finishing in November.
"It is very important for us enlisting the cooperation of all involved parts in tourism sectors (EVEX, Municipalities, etc.) to enhance the tourism product," said, talking at "Haniotika Nea" Mrs. Maria Kokkinaki, Executive Director of Tourism of the Municipality of Chania.

"The results are positive, the effort began over a year ago is beginning to have tangible and measurable results, with the arrival of hundreds of thousands of visitors from new tourism markets such as cruises and low-cost airlines, which in previous years were in its infancy," said Mrs. Kokkinakis, stressing that "this year for the first time we have overcome the number of the so-called low cost airlines compared to destinations which for years had the primacy, such as Rhodes and I mention this to highlight that the cooperation and commitment of all institutions towards a goal, has immediate and measurable results. "

"As the municipality of Chania, we develop strategies and initiatives towards strengthening the leverage of tourism.
The struggle and effort, I want to mention that should be seamless because only then will we have the desired results and we must prove with exacting standards and discipline our hospitality, safety, quality in service and finally respect to each visitor of our country ", concluded Mrs. Kokkinaki.
