Russians, Ukrainians and Israelis 'vote' for Greece
Particularly strong is the preference shown by the markets of Russia, Ukraine, Israel and Turkey in the Greek tourist product, as said by the Culture Minister Mr. Pavlos Geroulanos.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Geroulanos appeared satisfied with the progress of tourism, particularly in target markets.
Russia is becoming a key market for Greek tourism. The arrivals are rising 60% over 2010, while the target of 650.000 arrivals should be taken for granted.
Rise of 50% at the arrivals from Ukraine, from Israel 30%, while upward trends, -however in a double digit-show arrivals from Turkey.
Particularly good is the evidence of visitors from the Balkans, particularly in Northern Greece.
Also Geroulanos noted that the purpose of ministry is the opening of new markets, and in this context he is expected in September to make a trip to India.
Furthermore, the Minister of Culture and Tourism claimed that the new arrangements for tourist accommodation, under the multi-legislation of the Ministry of Finance, will pave the way for investments of Russians and Israelis.
