Foreign tourists are sweeping the Greek islands
One of the best tourist season in recent years is expected to have this year our country, the statistics for the month of April and the first four months of this year, are referring to an explosive increase in arrivals.
With markets in Tunisia and Egypt to be closed and neighboring Turkey to present overcrowding in almost all the resorts, it seems that our country is the ideal destination for many Europeans and not only.
The tourist season, which is now upon us, will be -as everything shows-all very good.
According to the Association of Greek Tourist Enterprises (SETE), arrivals in the major Greek airports in the last quarter, but especially in April, are showing a very large increase.
Typically, the arrival of international arrivals from January to April in the main airports of the country reaches 5,60% with 1.150.000 tourists have visited Greece, and only in April reaching 24,04% with over 540.000 tourists.
The biggest, upward trend recorded in visitors from England, Italy, Russia, Germany, Israel, France and Turkey.
Impressive is the rate of growth of arrivals at the airport of Kos that reaches 607,57% at the first 4 months of the year, while in April only reaches 537,44%.
Huge rise is seen at the airports of the island of Zakynthos with a 504,12% rise in April and 521,22% in the first quarter of the year. Additionally, in Rhodes the rising of arrivals surpassed the 133,00% in April and 119,18% in the first quarter of the year.
